Sometimes you want something a little out of the ordinary, maybe something that\u2019s a little nutty, a little sweet AND salty\u2026 Something like this Peanut<\/p>\n<p>Butter Frosting. Imagine peanut butter whipped up into an airier, creamier, sweeter concoction and you\u2019ve got the right idea. This stuff is delicious and peanut butter lovers aren\u2019t the only ones who will think so.<\/p>\n<p>My favorite way to eat this is on a chocolate cupcake. It tastes like a peanut butter cup in cake form, more or less, and you will never convince me that that\u2019s not the very best candy out there.<\/p>\n<p>I think what makes that possible is that this frosting really does taste like peanut butter \u2014 it\u2019s not a vague hint of peanut butter or a mere suggestion of peanut butter \u2014 it\u2019s clearly, straightforwardly peanut butter. But creamier and lighter and sweeter, so that eating a fair amount of it is in no way overwhelming.<\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature<\/li>\n<li>1 cup creamy peanut butter<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 cups powdered sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup heavy cream, at room temperature<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PREPARATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy, about 2 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add peanut butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream, vanilla, and salt and continue mixing on low until incorporated. Once mixed,<\/p>\n<p>increase speed to high and beat 3 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add more powdered sugar or cream to achieve a thinner or thicker consistency.
