It takes less than an hour.\u00a0We love traditional meatloaf but we decided to make it a little more modern.\u00a0Cheesey mashed potatoes and meatloaf casserole<\/p>\n<h2>INGREDIENTS<\/h2>\n<p>3 cups leftover (garlic) mashed potatoes<br \/>\n1 pound lean ground beef<br \/>\n1\/2 cup white onion, finely chopped<br \/>\n3 cloves garlic, minced<br \/>\n2 tablespoons brown sugar<br \/>\n1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce<br \/>\n1 cup Italian breadcrumbs<br \/>\n1 large egg<br \/>\n1 1\/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated<br \/>\n1\/3 cup bacon (cooked and crumbled) or bacon bits<br \/>\nkosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste<\/p>\n<h2>PREPARATION<\/h2>\n<p>Preheat oven to 400\u00ba F.<\/p>\n<p>In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic and Worcestershire sauce using two forks or your hands.<\/p>\n<p>Season generously with salt and pepper, then work in breadcrumbs and egg.<\/p>\n<p>Transfer ground beef to an 8-inch square baking dish and press it into an even layer.<\/p>\n<p>Spread mashed potatoes on top of ground beef mixture, then top with cheddar cheese and bacon bits.<\/p>\n<p>Cover baking dish with aluminum foil, then place in oven.
