{"id":25057,"date":"2022-04-10T22:29:45","date_gmt":"2022-04-10T22:29:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mrhealthyalternative.com\/?p=25057"},"modified":"2022-04-10T22:32:39","modified_gmt":"2022-04-10T22:32:39","slug":"okra-stew-with-chicken-sausage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mrhealthyalternative.com\/?p=25057","title":{"rendered":"Okra Stew with Chicken, Sausage, Shrimp and Crawfish Tails, Onion and Green Peppers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"63d509947b33dea96ed9a09b2482b63d\" data-index=\"1\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<div data-type=\"_mgwidget\" data-widget-id=\"1554417\">\r\n<\/div>\r\n<script>(function(w,q){w[q]=w[q]||[];w[q].push([\"_mgc.load\"])})(window,\"_mgq\");\r\n<\/script>\r\n\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"entry-title\">Okra stew with chicken, sausage, shrimp and crawfish tails, onion and green peppers<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Okra<\/li>\n<li>Smoked sausage<\/li>\n<li>Shrimp<\/li>\n<li>Crawfish tails<\/li>\n<li>Chicken wings<\/li>\n<li>Onion<\/li>\n<li>Green bell pepper<\/li>\n<li>Roasted red pepper<\/li>\n<li>Chicken stock<\/li>\n<li>Cajun seasoning<\/li>\n<li>Onion powder<\/li>\n<li>Garlic powder<\/li>\n<li>Poultry seasoning<\/li>\n<li>2 quarts fresh okra, sliced (PicSweet Frozen will work if fresh Is not available, just not as good as fresh)<\/li>\n<li>1 pound small to medium shrimp, peeled and deveined<\/li>\n<li>3 cups diced tomatoes<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc cup vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>3 to 4 cloves chopped garlic<\/li>\n<li>1 cup diced onions1 cup diced celery<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup diced yellow bell peppers<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup chicken stock or shrimp stock if available<\/li>\n<li>Slap Ya Mama to taste or salt and cracked black pepper to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a 4-quart saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat.<\/p>\n<p>Saut\u00e9 okra, onions, celery, bell peppers and chopped garlic approximately 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Stir constantly until okra stops \u201cstringing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stir in tomatoes and chicken stock, bring to a low boil and cook approximately 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.<\/p>\n<p>Add shrimp and continue to cook additional 15\u201320 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Season to taste.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cooking Tips:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cajun Trinity<\/strong>: You may have come across recipes calling for this, and wonder what it is.
