{"id":24935,"date":"2022-04-03T20:28:03","date_gmt":"2022-04-03T20:28:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mrhealthyalternative.com\/?p=24935"},"modified":"2022-04-03T20:28:03","modified_gmt":"2022-04-03T20:28:03","slug":"sugar-cream-pie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mrhealthyalternative.com\/?p=24935","title":{"rendered":"Sugar Cream Pie"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"63d509947b33dea96ed9a09b2482b63d\" data-index=\"1\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<div data-type=\"_mgwidget\" data-widget-id=\"1554417\">\r\n<\/div>\r\n<script>(function(w,q){w[q]=w[q]||[];w[q].push([\"_mgc.load\"])})(window,\"_mgq\");\r\n<\/script>\r\n\n<\/div>\n<p>OMG&#8230;.you have to try this one! \u00a0I make it simple by starting off with a store bought pie crust but you can make your own if you&#8217;d prefer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sugar Cream Pie<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 4 tablespoons cornstarch<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00be cup granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 4 tablespoons butter, melted<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 2\u00bc cups heavy cream<\/li>\n<li>\u00a01 teaspoon pure vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>1\u00a0 9-inch pre-baked Pie Crust or homemade<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons of melted butter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cinnamon Sugar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mix 1\/4 cup granulated white sugar with 1 tablespoon cinnamon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Set aside.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Pre-bake your pie crust until goldenbrown and then cool while preparing filling.<\/p>\n<p>Mix the cornstarch and sugar together in a small to medium bowl. Whisk together the heavy cream and melted butter and pour it into a heavy bottom saucepan. \u00a0Add the sugar and whisk or stir constantly while cooking over medium heat.\u00a0 Make sure you stir constantly or it will burn.<\/p>\n<p>Allow to cook until the custard begins to thicken and come to a boil.\u00a0 Allow it to come to a low boil for about a minute and then remove from heat. Stir in pure vanilla until smooth. Whisk in vanilla and pour filling into pre-baked pie crust.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have filled your pie shell, drizzle the other 2 tablespoons of melted butter over top of pie and sprinkle on the cinnamon sugar.<\/p>\n<p>Place the pie under the broiler until butter bubbles and surface starts to brown.
