{"id":24533,"date":"2022-02-19T08:50:20","date_gmt":"2022-02-19T08:50:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mrhealthyalternative.com\/?p=24533"},"modified":"2022-02-19T08:50:20","modified_gmt":"2022-02-19T08:50:20","slug":"beef-short-rib-stew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mrhealthyalternative.com\/?p=24533","title":{"rendered":"Beef short rib stew!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"63d509947b33dea96ed9a09b2482b63d\" data-index=\"1\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<div data-type=\"_mgwidget\" data-widget-id=\"1554417\">\r\n<\/div>\r\n<script>(function(w,q){w[q]=w[q]||[];w[q].push([\"_mgc.load\"])})(window,\"_mgq\");\r\n<\/script>\r\n\n<\/div>\n<p>Beef short rib stew!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients :<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I used about 12 short ribs<\/li>\n<li>Bacon grease<\/li>\n<li>1 med onion<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 med red, yellow, green pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 stalk celery<\/li>\n<li>5 cups beef broth<\/li>\n<li>2 cups water<\/li>\n<li>1 sprig thyme\/rosemary<\/li>\n<li>5 cloves garlic<\/li>\n<li>Cajun seasoning<\/li>\n<li>Salt Pepper<\/li>\n<li>Flour<\/li>\n<li>Red wine<\/li>\n<li>Carrots (chopped)<\/li>\n<li>Potatoes (halved or quartered)<\/li>\n<li>Frozen peas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Instructions :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong>Lightly season short ribs with salt and pepper then dredge in flour<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong>In a large heavy pot, heat bacon grease to med high<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong>Cook short ribs in hot oil until brown on all sides, remove from pot and set aside<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong>Add chopped veggies to the pot and cook for a couple of minutes then add in 3 heaping tablespoons of flour. Stir constantly until the flour turns a dark brown color. (I add a splash of red wine here) cook another minute or two)<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong>Add the beef broth and water stirring the bottom of the pot to scrape up all of that delicious flavor. Add thyme, rosemary and the short ribs<\/p>\n<p>to pot then season to your liking with any spices you choose. I used a cajun seasoning blend.<\/p>\n<p>Stir and cover over med heat for 2 to 2\/12 hours.<\/p>\n<p>The liquid will cook down to at least half its volume<\/p>\n<p><strong>6.<\/strong>Remove the lid and add the potatoes carrots and frozen peas. Cover and cook another 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy with or without cooked rice.<\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed ours with some hot sweet ho cakes<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"font-size: 0px; height: 0px; line-height: 0px; margin: 0; padding: 0; clear: both;\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beef short rib stew!
