This Is What It REALLY Means If You Have Dimples In YOUR Cheeks
Do you have dimples? Apparently only 20% of the population are blessed with delightful dimples, whilst 80% of us have to just observe them.
But why do we want these little holes in our cheeks? And what does is REALLY mean if you have them?
DIMPLES IN FACT ARE A FACIAL MUSCLE DEFORMITY
They are an envious deformity that has been requested by many cosmetic surgery patients. Who would have thought we would pay good money for a deformity?
THE DIMPLE MACHINE
Isabella Gilbert must have spent a significant portion of her life distressed over her lack of dimples, because in 1936 she invented this spring-loaded contraption that promised to “make a fine set” by pressing a pair of knobs into the cheeks. This seems like a commitment you would have to take seriously, since real dimples don’t just show up for a night out on the town…
DIMPLES ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ETERNAL YOUTH
People will be wondering if you have been drinking from the Fountain of Youth as scientists reckon that these little dimples make you look younger as you age. This is as they are generally associated with children and babies, which makes us subconsciously look at people with dimples as though they are younger than they actually are!
MANY CULTURES CONSIDER DIMPLES TO BE A SIGN OF GOOD LUCK, AND PROSPERITY
Which basically means that taking a friend with dimples along to a casino could be a very good idea… Anyone up for a game of Blackjack?
SMILE – YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL
If that’s not enough, around 60% of Hollywood stars have dimples and they are generally received as a sign of beauty!
IT’S ALL IN THE GENES
Dimples are a genetic trait, unfortunately. So unless you want to give that dimple machine (which I wouldn’t) a go, then you are just going to have to go without I’m afraid.
BUT IF YOU DO HAVE THEM… YOU ARE MORE SEXUALLY ATTRACTIVE
New studies indicate that dimples even might be an aid to sexual attractiveness: if people notice your face more, there’s an added chance they might want to make babies with you! Who would have thought?
